Chloride intracellular channel protein is a protein with a molecular weight of 28 kDa, located in the chloride channel complex and cytoplasm of cells. In humans, chloride intracellular channel protein is thought to be essential to organismal processes, for instance, sensory perception of sound. Chloride intracellular channel protein has been thought to be involved with important functions like chloride channel and voltage-gated ion channel activity. Sequencing of Chloride intracellular channel protein has shown evidence of it contains a primary structural unit, the GST C-terminal domain. Chloride intracellular channel protein is an integral part of ion transmembrane transport.
