Tyrosine-protein kinase CSK is a 51 kDa protein that can be found in the cytosol, extracellular exosome and cytoplasm of cells. It is alternatively called C-Src kinase and Protein-tyrosine kinase CYL. In humans, C-Src kinase has been closely linked to vital functions such as non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity. It is a negative regulator of interleukin-6 production, ERK1 and ERK2 cascade and Golgi to plasma membrane protein transport but also plays a role in the upregulation of MAP kinase activity. It takes part in organismal processes, for example, cellular response to peptide hormone stimulus, brain development and protein autophosphorylation. Sequencing of C-Src kinase has demonstrated it contains 3 types of conserved structural units: protein kinase, SH2 and SH3 domain.C-Src kinase recognizes metal ion, protein phosphatase and identical protein. It is the subject of extensive application in part because of the fact that it is a member of the regulation of Fc receptor mediated stimulatory signaling pathway and T cell receptor signaling pathway.
