About
Purified Mouse Anti-human/mouse/rabbit Basic Cytokeratins Antibody
AE3, monoclonal
Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 2 epidermal is a 77 kDa protein that can be found in the nucleus, cytosol and extracellular exosome of cells. It is also known as keratin-2 epidermis, type-II keratin Kb2 and keratin-2e. In Homo sapiens, type-II keratin Kb2 recognizes cytoskeletal protein. Sequencing of type-II keratin Kb2 has shown it contains a primary structural unit, the IF rod domain. Type-II keratin Kb2 plays a role in the upregulation of epidermis development. It aids in organismal processes, in particular, peptide cross-linking, intermediate filament organization and keratinocyte migration. Type-II keratin Kb2 is clinically significant because abnormalities in its function have been associated with diseases such as Ichthyosis bullosa of Siemens (IBS).
