γ-Tubulin complex component 2 (also known as , γ-ring complex protein 103 kDa, Spindle pole body protein Spc97 homolog or hSpc97) is a protein with a molecular weight of 119 kDa, expressed in the cytosol, γ-tubulin complex and nucleoplasm of cells. In humans, γ-Tubulin complex component 2 is thought to be essential to organismal processes, in particular, microtubule nucleation by interphase microtubule organizing center, cytoplasmic microtubule organization and microtubule nucleation. It binds to γ-tubulin.
