SLP adapter and CSK-interacting membrane protein is a 17 kDa transmembrane protein that can be found in the filopodium, tetraspanin-enriched microdomain and leading edge membrane of cells. In humans, SLP adapter and CSK-interacting membrane protein is an integral part of organismal processes, for instance, cellular response to molecule of fungal origin and cytokine production involved in immune response. It is the subject of intensive examination stemming from the fact that it plays a role in the toll-like receptor 7 signaling pathway, toll-like receptor 3 signaling pathway and toll-like receptor TLR1:TLR2 signaling pathway. SLP adapter and CSK-interacting membrane protein has been associated with vital functions like molecular adaptor activity. SLP adapter and CSK-interacting membrane protein recognizes microtubule and S-palmitoyl cysteine. It positively regulates interleukin-12 production, apoptotic process and dendritic cell cytokine production.
