Purified Rabbit Anti-human/mouse CTBP1 Antibody
PAb (511), monoclonal
C-terminal-binding protein 1 (CtBP1) is a 48 kDa protein that can be found in the nucleus, nucleoplasm and transcription repressor complex of cells. In humans, C-terminal-binding protein 1 plays an important role in organismal processes, namely, protein phosphorylation, viral genome replication and white fat cell differentiation. It plays an important role in cell cycle. C-terminal-binding protein 1 upregulates histone deacetylation on the other hand also downregulates transcription by RNA polymerase II, transcription, DNA-templated and cell population proliferation. It has been thought to be involved with essential functions such as transcription corepressor activity, and also, reacts with NAD, identical protein and transcription factor. C-terminal-binding protein 1 is clinically significant because abnormalities in its function have been closely linked to diseases like Hypotonia, ataxia, developmental delay, and tooth enamel defect syndrome (HADDTS). Hypotonia, ataxia, developmental delay, and tooth enamel defect syndrome, an autosomal dominant inheritancedisorder characterized by cerebellar atrophy and feeding difficulties, has in specific been of interest to investigators.
