XFD488 Anti-human CD56 Antibody *AHC0060*

AHC0060 is an anti-human monoclonal antibody that is specific for the CD56 antigen. CD56 (sometimes referred to as NCAM-1, Leu-19 or NCAM1) is a member of the Ig superfamily that is expressed on the surface of cells such as T cells and NK cells. CD56 has been associated with important biological processes like axon guidance, specifically commissural neuron axon guidance. Additionally, it is involved with important cellular pathways, for instance, the interferon-gamma-mediated signaling pathway and regulation of semaphorin-plexin signaling pathway. From a research standpoint, it is of biological interest due to its association with vital macromolecules/ligands like NCAM-1 and heparin sulfate. CD56 is a moderately popular antibody target, with over 18000 publications in the last decade. CD56 is essential for research, commonly serving as a phenotypic marker for differentiating cell types in flow cytometric applications. This antibody was purified through affinity chromatography and conjugated to XFD488 (ex/em = 499/520 nm). XFD488 is manufactured by AAT Bioquest, and it has a chemical structure similar to that of Alexa Fluor® 488 (Alexa Fluor® is the trademark of Thermo Fisher). It is compatible with the 488 nm laser and 530/30 nm bandpass filter (for example, as in the BD FACSCanto™ II).
