What are the main proteins in the cell membrane?

Posted September 13, 2021

Answer

The main proteins in cell membranes comprise of integral and peripheral proteins. Therefore, the integral proteins are firmly attached to the cell membrane and cannot be altered by cell environment variations. Additionally, the proteins are involved in the regulation of the environmental conditions of the cell. Similarly, the peripheral cell membrane is critical in influencing the temporarily attached proteins to transport substances across the membrane. Moreover, the proteins would help in ensuring that cellular activities are efficiently conducted or controlled.  The proteins in the cell membrane are vital in ensuring that no activities are missed. While the integral proteins control movement of substances in and out of the cell, peripheral proteins influence the movement of molecules and substances across the membrane.
