What is the difference between Immunoblot and Western Blot?

Posted February 9, 2022

Answer

There is no significant difference between immunoblot and western blot in their principle, methodology or applications. Both terms refer to the molecular biology technique that uses antibodies to detect specific proteins in a sample. Because of the use of antibodies, immunoblot is the more accurate name for this technique.
