What is the pH value of your probenecid solution (Cat# 20062)?

Posted June 13, 2019

With our current probenecid reagent we are experiencing very poor water solubility. I see you offer a probenecid 25 mM stabilized aqueous solution and a water soluble probenecid sodium salt.

Could you provide the pH values of the solutions when probenecid (Na+ salt) is dissolved in pure water and in the recommended HHBS buffer, respectively? As well as the pH value of your probenecid 25 mM stabilized aqueous solution?

Answer

ReadiUse probenecid, sodium salt

  • 25 mM in HHBS,   pH=7.5;  2.5 mM in HHBS, pH=7.5
  • 25 mM in H2O, pH=11.0;   2.5 mM in H2O, pH=9.5

ReadiUse probenecid 25 mM stabilized aqueous solution

  • 25 mM stock, pH=8.0
  • 5 mM in H2O, pH=7.0
  • 5 mM in HHBS, pH=7.0
