Why are the aldehyde and peroxide contents of a detergent important?

Answer

Aldehyde and peroxide contents in a detergent are considered contaminants and you should remove as much of them as possible. Some detergents have ultra low aldehyde and peroxide concentrations to reduce the effects of peroxidase and carbonyl compounds that negatively interact with membrane proteins.
