Does high pH mean more acidic?

Posted March 13, 2024

Answer

No, high pH means less acidic and more basic. Low pH means more acidic.

The pH value of any substance can range from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. If the pH value of the substance is less than 7, it indicates that the substance is acidic. The lower the pH, the stronger the acidity. A pH value that’s greater than 7 indicates a base. The higher the pH value, the stronger the basicity.
