What are the advantages of tyramine amplification methods?

Posted May 10, 2024

Answer

One key advantage is that TSA methods enhance assay sensitivity. It has a sensitivity of up to 100-fold that of traditional techniques. It also allows researchers to use less antibody or probe, making it cost-efficient. Additionally, TSA simplifies the design of multiplexed assays by providing greater flexibility in reagent selection. A common practice is to perform serial TSA when working with plated cells or tissue sections, allowing researchers to detect multiple targets sequentially. TSA is also highly effective in detecting targets that are present in low abundance within a sample. Its workflow is also similar to that of conventional ICC, IHC, and FISH techniques and thus is compatible with them.
