What are the common types of RNA editing?

Posted August 18, 2022

Answer

The common types of RNA editing are insertion, deletion, and base substitution. In base substitution, individual nucleotides go through a chemical change and are substituted with different nucleotides. This does not change the overall length of the RNA molecule. With insertion and deletion editing, nucleotides are inserted or deleted, which will then change the length of the target RNA molecule.
