What are the cons of using mRNA vaccines?

Posted August 3, 2023

Answer

An mRNA vaccine works by triggering your immune system to create antibodies or small proteins to fight disease-causing bacteria and viruses.

Cons of using RNA vaccines:

  • mRNA is unstable and can be easily degraded
  • Less effective than using DNA vaccines
  • Less safe as compared to inactivated vaccines
  • Strong immunogenicity, may trigger unnecessary immune response
