Memory B cells

  • Are a type of white blood cells involved in adaptive immunity
  • Responsible for producing antibodies
  • Several types including naïve B cells, plasmablast, and plasma cells
  • Functions including producing cytokines, secreting antibodies, and serving as antigen presenting cells
  • All types of B cells except plasma cells can proliferate 

Plasma cells

  • Are a type of activated B cells
  • Main function is to secrete antibodies
  • Cannot proliferate further
