What are the similarities between adherent cell culture and suspension cell culture?

Posted March 20, 2023

Answer

Both, adherent and suspension cell cultures are derived from primary cell cultures and prepared under in vitro conditions. Both types of cell cultures need optimum media and growth conditions for maximum growth. Both can be stored under special storage conditions and both require continuous passaging to increase the yield. Adherent and Suspension cell cultures are both widely used in a number of applications including disease diagnostics, tissue culture techniques, and assessment of drug metabolism in pharmacological studies.
