What are the similarities between ATPase and ATP synthase?

There are several similarities between ATPase and ATP synthase. One similarity is that both regulate the quantity of ATP molecules within a cell. A second similarity is that both are multi subunit enzymes. Another similarity is that both can regulate the movement of molecules across the membrane. ATPase and ATP synthase both possess heavy molecular weights and are both enzymes that are protein in nature. Both enzymes are integral membrane proteins positioned within biological membranes.
