There are various similarities between mitosis and cell division. Mitosis involves cell division. In both cell division and mitosis, a single cell is divided into two parts. Both processes are very important in multicellular organisms. Without cell division and mitosis, cells would not be able to reproduce for the next generation in their survival. Another similarity is that both processes have the goal of splitting the nucleus and its DNA between 2 daughter cells. In both cell division and mitosis, chromosomes are necessary to allow for DNA to be copied; before DNA can be separated between two cells, it must be replicated and condensed into chromosomes.
