What are the types of combinatorial antibody libraries?

Posted July 21, 2022

Answer

There are four types of combinatorial antibody libraries: immune, naive, semi-synthetic, and synthetic libraries.

  • Immune libraries use antibodies from immunized humans or animals.
  • Naïve libraries use antibodies from unimmunized subjects or synthetic human genes.
  • Semi-synthetic libraries are controlled by oligonucleotides synthesis.
  • Synthetic libraries are composed of fully artificial, random codons assimilated into CDRs.
