What are the uses of transcriptome analysis?
Posted April 18, 2024

Answer

Transcriptome analysis allows researchers to quantify the expression levels of genes in different tissues and cell types. Transcriptome analysis enables the detection and quantification of alternative splicing events, in which different combinations of exons are included or excluded from the final mRNA transcripts. Furthermore, transcriptome analysis can also discover novel RNA transcripts not found in existing genome databases. Additionally, by comparing transcriptomic profiles between different samples or experimental conditions, researchers can discover key regulatory mechanisms.
