What factors should I consider when designing microarray experiments?

Posted September 11, 2024

Answer

One factor to consider is the specific research questions (such as identifying differentially expressed genes or comparing conditions overtime). Another factor is selecting the appropriate analysis software. One should select software that can handle the complexity of their data and analysis requirements. The overall cost of the experiment, including microarray chips, reagents, and software should be considered. Another factor to consider is that different types of microarrays offer various levels of sensitivity. Lastly, ensure that there is enough high-quality RNA to perform the experiment. Low RNA quality or quantity can lead to unreliable results.
