What is alternative splicing?

Posted March 14, 2024

Answer

Alternative splicing is a process within cells where different exons are combined in various ways to create multiple mRNA transcripts from a single gene. These mRNA transcripts can then be translated into different proteins, each with its own unique function and structure. These transcripts originate from the same gene.
