What is the structure of receptor tyrosine kinases?

Posted September 27, 2023

Answer

There are a total of 58 known receptor tyrosine kinases in humans, and all of them share similar protein structures. Receptor tyrosine kinases are composed of a ligand-binding region in the EC domain, one primary transmembrane alpha-helix, and a cytoplasmic area which contains the protein tyrosine kinase domain plus an additional carboxy terminal tail and juxtamembrane regulatory regions.
