What process do prokaryotes use to divide?

Posted April 29, 2022

Answer

Prokaryotes divide through a cell division process known as binary fission. This is a quick and simple process that involves copying the chromosome and separating one cell into two. This is an asexual form of division as there is no production of sperm or eggs, neither is there any mixing of genetic material from two individuals.
