The type of DNA found in humans at neutral pH and physiological salt concentrations is B-DNA.
B-DNA is the classic form of DNA. It features a right-handed double helical structure with the two DNA strands flowing in opposite directions. The strands have an uneven structure with alternating primary grooves and minor grooves. It has a winding width of 2 nm.
The core of B-DNA is composed of nitrogenous bases and the backbone is composed of sugar phosphates linked together by phosphodiester linkages.
