Posted October 16, 2023

Answer

Smooth muscle cells are involuntary cells that are specialized to contract persistently. They are found throughout the body most commonly around the digestive tract and organs such as the eyes, as well as in the walls of blood vessels and visceral organs such as the liver, intestines and pancreas. Their functions vary depending on their location.
