Which type of cells use mitosis to reproduce?

Posted November 30, 2023

Answer

All eukaryotes use mitosis to reproduce, help organisms grow in size, and for cell repair. Mitosis can occur in both multicellular organisms and unicellular organisms. In unicellular organisms, mitosis functions as a form of asexual reproduction. In multicellular organisms, mitosis can occur in several forms of reproduction including sexual, asexual, or vegetative reproduction.

Mitosis occurs in non-reproductive cells. Somatic cells constitute various parts of the body including connective tissue, bones, internal organs, skin, and blood. Some examples of these cells include blood cells, skin cells, nerve cells, and muscle cells.
