What are the similarities between open and closed mitosis?

Posted November 30, 2023

Answer

One similarity is that they are both types of mitotic cell divisions. They are also both present in eukaryotes. Additionally, in both types of mitosis the mitotic spindle is responsible for segregating chromatids. Another similarity is that in both processes the end result is two daughter cells. These types of mitosis are essential for the survival of organisms, as different organisms reproduce with the type of mitosis that is best suited for them.
