Why are ribosomes often referred to as the cell factories?

Posted February 2, 2023

Answer

Ribosomes are small cell organelles that are responsible for gathering and assembling amino acids into protein chains through a process known as protein synthesis. They are referred to as cell factories or protein factories as they are the only cell organelle involved in protein synthesis.
