Why is horseradish peroxidase the enzyme that is used most often in blotting procedures?

Answer
HRP is preferred due to its stability, its cost-effectiveness, and ability to be easily conjugated to other molecules. HRP is also smaller in size compared to phosphatase-labeled secondary antibodies.
