How long does it take to get results from ELISA?

Posted April 2, 2019

Answer

Since the concentration of the analyte need not be very high for most types of ELISA, much of the time necessary to devote to the test is for preparation of the materials; the incubation times for many options range from only 15 minutes to a few hours at room temperature. For researchers for whom time or laboratory space is a concern, the use of assay kits is common, to ensure consistent results without unnecessary dedication of resources.
