Is Rhodamine 6G soluble in water?

Posted October 1, 2021

Answer

Yes, rhodamine 6G is soluble in water and is widely used as a tracer dye to understand the movement of water. Rhodamine 6G fluoresces a very bright color and is easily detected even in very low concentrations.  These two properties make this dye very useful for monitoring aeration and dispersion, tracking pollutants, and several other applications in water flow, dilution, and transport studies.
