Why are tandem dyes not recommended for intracellular staining?

Posted September 23, 2021

Answer

Tandem dyes are not recommended for intracellular staining because their larger size makes it difficult for them to cross the cell membrane and reach the intracellular target proteins. This inability to cross the cell membrane makes them ineffective for intracellular staining.
