What are complex permanent tissues?

Posted December 22, 2023

Answer

Complex permanent tissues are composed of more than one type of cell. They work together to carry out a common function or a set of functions. Complex permanent tissues are categorized into two types: xylem and phloem. The xylem tissue is responsible for transporting water and nutrients from a plant's roots to its leaves and stem. It also provides structural support. Phloem functions in transporting prepared organic food via photosynthesis, moving it from the leaves to different regions of the plant.
