What are extracellular vesicles (Evs)?
Posted October 2, 2024

Answer

Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) are membrane-bound particles released naturally by almost all cell types. They carry bioactive molecules such as lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids, which they deliver to recipient cells. Extracellular vesicles play a key role in intercellular communication. They also help regulate physiological and pathological processes in the body. EVs are unable to replicate as they lack a functional nucleus.
