What are somatic cells?

Posted February 1, 2024

Answer

Somatic cells refer to all cells of the body except reproductive cells (sperm and egg cells). They make up the blood, skin, internal organs, bones, and connective tissue in an organism. Somatic cells are diploid in nature and are responsible for an organism’s growth and development but not reproduction.
