What are the advantages of GBS?

Posted April 18, 2024

Answer

In GBS, genomic DNA is digested with a single restriction enzyme without random fragmentation. Instead, PCR is used for fragment size selection, and unique barcodes are added to different samples, allowing for pooling of up to 96 samples. This simplifies library construction steps, resulting in lower costs compared to RAD.
