Answer
RAD involves digesting the entire genome DNA with a single restriction enzyme, followed by random fragmentation of the digested fragments. As a result, one of the sequenced reads (read1) is aligned consistently, while the other read (read2) may have uneven alignment. This approach allows for the clustering and assembly of longer contigs, which is advantageous for developing SSR molecular markers. Additionally, there are a large number of markers available.
