What are the similarities between B cell receptor and T cell receptor?

Posted August 24, 2023

Answer

B cell Receptor and T cell receptor are both integral membrane proteins that are present as multiple identical copies on the cell surface. Both originate and mature in the bone marrow. Both types of cell receptors possess unique binding sites and both are encoded by genes that are assembled through recombination of DNA segments. Both B cell receptors and T cell receptors bind to noncovalent forces of the antigenic determinant portion of the antigen.
