What are the similarities between ectoplasm and endoplasm?

Posted January 18, 2023

Answer

There are several similarities between ectoplasm and endoplasm. One similarity is that both are components of a cell's cytoplasm. Another similarity is that both are fluids. They also both help amoeba for locomotion. In amoeba cells, both endoplasm and ectoplasm make up their cytoplasm; the darker cytoplasm toward the interior is the endoplasm and the clearer cytoplasm found near the cell membrane is the ectoplasm.
