What are the similarities between mRNA and DNA vaccines?

Posted August 3, 2023

Answer

Both mRNA and DNA vaccines are created by using genetic material such as RNA or DNA. Both vaccines need a delivery system to deliver materials and both work by instructing cells in the body to produce a protein that triggers an immune response. mRNA and DNA vaccines are both very effective, both trigger immune response faster, and both easy to produce on a large scale.
