What is long-read sequencing?

Posted April 18, 2024

Answer

Long-read sequencing refers to DNA sequencing technologies that can generate much longer read lengths compared to traditional short-read sequencing methods. These longer reads can range from several thousand to tens of thousands of base pairs in length, allowing researchers to identify complex genomic regions and repetitive sequences.
