What is the principle of single cell sequencing?

Posted April 18, 2024

Answer

The basic principle of single cell sequencing includes the isolation, extraction, preparation and sequencing of these cells. Following isolation, the genetic material (DNA or RNA) from each single cell is extracted and processed to make it compatible for sequencing. The extracted and amplified genetic material from each single cell is then prepared into a sequencing library. Lastly, the prepared sequencing libraries from each single cell are loaded onto a next-generation sequencer to be read.
