What is the purpose of an antibody labeling kit?

Posted April 18, 2023

Answer

The purpose of an antibody labeling kit is to provide the necessary set of reagents for the direct conjugation of labels to antibodies. These kits are useful for identifying primary antibodies or for custom antibody detection methods. For example, Zip Alexa Fluor Rapid Antibody Labeling Kits effectively label antibodies with fluorescent dyes to form an antibody conjugate that is ready to use within 15 minutes. The kit allows one to perform three separate labeling reactions of 100 micrograms of antibody. Conjugates are optimal for applications such as IHC, primary detection, flow cytometry, ICC. and indirect FISH. On a side note, these kits are useful because they have the flexibility to choose from Alexa Fluor 488, 555, and 647.
