Answer

Digestive enzymes are proteins that your body synthesizes to break down food molecules and aid digestion. There are several digestive enzymes that are produced naturally in the body. Each enzyme is produced in a different organ and performs a specific function related to digestion.

  • Amylase: Amylase is produced in the mouth and pancreas.
  • Lipase: Lipase is synthesized in the pancreas.
  • Pepsin and Trypsin: Pepsin and trypsin are two digestive enzymes produced in the stomach
  • Deoxyribonuclease and Ribonuclease: Deoxyribonuclease and Ribonuclease are both produced in the pancreas
  • Lactase: Lactase is produced in the small intestine.
  • Sucrase: Sucrase is produced in the small intestine.
