What is the difference between staining buffer and FACS buffer?

Answer
Formulations of FACS buffer generally include around 2-5% FBS or 1% BSA in PBS. FACS buffers may also include sodium azide (0.05-0.1%) and EDTA (~1 mM). This is used as the staining buffer in FACS, as well as for washing.
