Use the 2-DG-6-phosphate (2-DG6P) dose response for your standard. In each assay, 2-Deoxyglucose (2-DG) is taken up via glucose transporters and metabolized to 2-DG6P. The amount of accumulated non metabolized 2-DG6P is proportional to glucose uptake in cultured cells. However, both kits do not include the 2-DG6P standard. This is because researchers are typically not interested in the amount of glucose taken up by cells. Instead they are more concerned in differentiating between cells treated with or without a compound(s) of interest.
