Can atoms form multiple bonds?

Answer
Yes, atoms are able to form multiple bonds. When atoms are positioned next to each other, they may interact to form multiple bonds. A double bond occurs when two atoms share two pairs of electrons, forming two covalent bonds. Similarly, a triple bond is produced when two atoms share three pairs of electrons, resulting in the formation of three covalent bonds between them.
