What are the similarities between flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry?

Flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry are two techniques that are capable of detecting the presence of antigens on the cell surface or within the cell. Both techniques use fluorescently labeled antibodies to facilitate detection of diseases, specifically cancer and infectious diseases.
